Bad looking bird on craigslist

Jesus.....that scarlet macaw. Dd you see they spelled it McCaw? Omg. Why.

Maybe it's a Scottish parrot.

I have to stay off Craigslist, it's depressing. :(

I can't find the post anymore, but when I was searching the surrounding areas (idk why I do) I saw an add of a "malacan cockatiel"... Or something close to that, not exactly sure how it was spelled it in their add. I just don't understand why people gets animals that they know nothing about!

My humble opinion is he is a badly neglected parrot. I did a lot of research on the Hahn's prior to getting my Hahnna and what Imread said they are prone to plucking if not given enough to occupy them and or if kept confined for long periods. Based on the picture seems as though he is in a basement, probably was either used for breeding or they attempted to breed him and he was not willing. He seems stressed based i. The plucking. Atmosphere and his being all the way in the corner. I do believe if you have patience and work with him he could become your best friend. I work in dog rescue and have seen and taken in the most broken even aggressive and with love, time and patience have turned them around. One of my biggest challenges is currently snuggled in my lap as I tyoe, yet two years ago she was like a ferral dog, and had been thrown from a car, came to me with punctures, certainly did not look like the Yorkie breed she is and was so weak she could not stand. She is now in my 18 years of dojng rescue by far is the best Yorkie I have ever had. Most well behaved and sweetest. If you are interested i. Taking a shot in this baby, see if you can negotiate price. i know in NJ they sell as babies for around $900. If he is banded you can probably get the yr he was born off of there. i think? You will have to invest around $300 on a good vet check up with a bllod panel run, of course a better cage then he is in and he def is in need of toys and a good diet. Talk to the owner and tell hi. This and who knows maybe he will give hi to you or at least let hi. Go for $100. I hope someone with knowledge and love takes a shot on him. I am in NJ or Imwould take him and at the least work with him and tey to find a more suitable home. Elaine and Hahnna

I have emailed 2 times now, both nice and asking questions about him, but I haven't gotten a reply yet.

I have seen birds that had plucked when they were in bad homes, and after they were rehomed their feathers just never grew back. It can happen. Although he looks to be in a really crappy cage. I really don't know.

Keep the emailing up. Hopefully they will respond. It took a week of consistent messaging to get Duke's owner to respond with a telephone number. One phone call and the next day, I flew back into town and drove to go get him ASAP! 7 hours of pain I would gladly suffer through again.

The poster to the hahns never emailed me back... But is a hahns macaw the same as a red shouldered macaw?

He is a beautiful bird...but they are abusing him. No wonder he plucked his feathers out! They need to treat him how they want to be treated.
