Hello, I've been hand feeding this 4 week old conure since he was 2 weeks old. So far everything is going good:) I was just wondering at what temperature should I have him at rite now? I've been keeping it at around 86 degrees but am wondering if it should be higher or lower.. Also when should I start to introduce him to solid food? Fruits? Vegetables? Cereal? Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you,
Alex :)

From what Kay Tee reads on their package it is 100 to 109. I like it atleast over 100 to 104.
Until they are weaned. My boy didn't seem to want to wean so I ground up some of the pellet food to a powder and mixed it 50/50 with the other and had them eat it out of a little tiny bowl. She was pretty much weaned and he saw her just munching on the pellets one day and he had to do the same. He was weaned..
Good luck.
Just make sure you have a good thermometer, I have seen bad pictures of burnt babies and it killed me.

Although the food should be over 100° F in temperature, the chick does not need to be kept that warm!

It's been a few weeks and this chick should have been introduced to new foods by now.

I was told by a breeder friend of mine that babies should be kept in a brooder or a heated aquarium at a minimum of 85F degrees, So it sounds like you are right on track with temps

Hope This Helps
