I am a new owner to a 13 week old blue fronted Amazon. I know later on in life they love music, but I was curious to see if anyone had any information if they are sensitive to loud music at this young age. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The term loud is very subjective when it comes to music. Music should be played at a level that can be defined as background. It is very important to understand that new technology equipment reproduces music at very precise levels that when played at levels defined as loud can be damaging to the hearing structures of both Human and Parrots.

I hope that this helps.

You don't want the music to be blaring but you don't have to be afraid to play it as they do have to hear screaming flock members in the wild. In my mind. it's too loud if I can't hold a conversation while music is playing. Just use common sense and your bird will be fine and may enjoy some different genres.

I love music. My stereo is on from the moment I wake until bed time. Being 60+ yrs old,I listen to classic rock and so do the fid's. If I go out some where, the stereo is always on,just for noise for the kids. Jonesy, the Goffins,REALLY enjoyed rock'an'roll! When he heard Pink Floyd's "comfortably Numb" his hat would go way up in the air and he'd jump around.

Smokey seemed to enjoy "soft rock" lol..America,Whitney Huston, and some southern Rock like the marshall tucker band.
