So I'm sure some of you remember my BFA, Willie. Sadly, his years of poor diet caught up with him way too soon and he passed away a few months ago due to a stroke most likely. However, he infected me.

So I brought home this little critter towards the end of November. He hatched October 30, 2017. He was usually in his own tote, but when I was feeding babies, he got to play with his little parrotlet cousins. Even when they're tiny, there is an appreciable size difference.

Of course, he got a present for his first Christmas. He wasn't quite big enough to open it himself, so he got some help. He did love his toy when he was big enough to move into his big boy cage though!

This will be Bo's thread, so there will be more to come as I get more pictures rotated the right way.

Impossiby cute! I'm sure all you DYH parronts' hearts melt in recollection when you see such pictures. I know mine does when I see baby Rickeybirds!
Just precious.

The picture with the plets! Oh my stars! It made me snort with laughter because he looks like a giant monster in there with them. Thanks for setting up threads for your flock [emoji16]

The bad part is he was the youngest bird in that tote at the time!

Oh my the photo with the parrotlets! Definitely the best thing I’ve seen in a while. [emoji23]

Bo is a DYH? I love them. He is so cute with his present. Alas he would probably hate me :-(....

Yea, they definitely don't have much yellow when they're babies. When he molts, he'll get more yellow on his head each time until he has the full yellow head you'd expect him to have.

aw he's so precious!

Love his spiky hair do he's currently sporting

Bo is so dang cute! He sure looks happy to be the biggest baddest (baby) bird in that nest box:D and I already see the amazon attitude coming in in that pic of him with his first toy. What a sweetie! Can't wait to see more of him.

I've been busy the last few days, but I think I have this Imgur thing finally figured out so I can post more pictures! The loss of photobucket really put a damper on things.

Anyway, some more Bo pictures! I think this picture is adorable, Gus was trying so hard to get Bo to preen his head feathers but Bo wasn't doing too great of a job. He was stabbing Gus in the head with his beak more than preening, but Gus was in heaven anyway.

Here I snuck up on Bo while he was taking a nap. I think it is my favorite picture of him.

And someone has an orange beak from tearing apart some peppers. He eats his veggies like a champ!

Finally, Bo went on his first adventure over Easter weekend. We went about 5 hours north to visit some of my wife's family for the holiday. There were about 40 people there, so Twitch and Gus spent the weekend with a friend of mine. It would have been too much excitement for them, but Bo loves to be the center of attention. The world does revolve around him after all. He had a pretty nice little set-up for his 2 night stay, even if he had to stay in his travel cage. He still had a playstand and his very own table. Not that he was in his cage or on his playstand very much if we were there. He was held constantly, just like a new baby. He even did really good about stepping up for complete strangers, which I was very proud of him. As long as we don't touch the birdie of course. :p

Bo scared the life out of me today. Just as my daughter and I were getting ready to go for a walk, he started screaming in his cage. I ran to go see what was wrong, and he was hanging in his cage, with one of his wings slipped through the horizontal bars of his cage. I ran over, practically ripped his door off, and grabbed him to lift him up and take the pressure off his wing. My hands paid for that dearly, but I just really didn't care. I slipped his wing back through the bars and once he calmed down for a minute I checked him over.

I wasn't able to feel any obvious deformities in the wing and no excessive heat. I set him down and watched him. He started preening, and he lifted the wing to preen under it and with very little encouragement, was willing to flap both wings with no seeming discomfort. He's now up playing on top of his cage as though nothing happened at all, and I'm hoping disaster was averted and that I received the worst of the injuries today.

I am planning on making a scrap book for the birds with their baby pictures, so I asked Bo's breeder for a picture of his parents. So I have a picture of his parents, Twitch's parents, and am just waiting on Gus's parents. Of course Amazon's are the coolest anyway.

Really liking Bo's and Gus's threads. I should try to get a pic of Salty's parents, never thought of that.

I thought it would be neat, since I can get a picture of all three of their parents, to make like a "baby book" for all of them. Bo's breeder was at a mutual friend of our's house over the weekend, so I brought Bo over to see him, and he was shocked at how big he was. He is going to end up bigger than both of his parents. Apparently, he is a monster. :D
