Hi guys Picasso has a good diet he eats, bean shoots, capsicum, carrots, corn, brocoli, corriander, green beans and dark leafy greens such as spinach and rocket. I also feed him Vetafarm nutriblend pellets. He has the Forege healthy seed mix ( no sun flower seeds) and crumbles also cuttlebone. He gets millet or a nut when he's a good boy or as a treat. I have to buy some more food soon and I was reading that crumbles was a healthy replacement for seed. He has always been big, not fat. Even when I first went to see the breeder he was bigger than his sibling. He is also a very active boy. I just want him to have the best diet possible. So should I get more crumbles as a replacement for seed and just use seed as a treat as well?. The seed he does have at the moment is also kept to a minimum. What do you guys feed your cockatiels?

A small amount of seed is fine, especially for seedavores like budgies and cockatiels. In the wild, seeds make up a good portion of their natural diet. His current diet sounds great! Really. Me, I would not change anything, as changing diets can sometimes backfire.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, as we sometimes say in Midwest America 🙂. Your bird’s diet sounds good and, most importantly, it sounds like he is doing very well on it. I would second that there is no need to change anything.

Thanks it wasn't hard to get him to like veggies all I did was eat them as well 😅
I did start him on freeze dried at first then just moved to fresh. I'll keep his diet as it is.

Thanks I'm going to keep it the way it is 🙂
