Angel- Updates, Pictures, Words.

Hey Everyone, So i made this thread so i can have a place to put all angels updates and pictures. I also plan to update this first post and include any new words that she says as a way to document her vocabulary, and for fun!

I look forward to posting here many pictures and having many discussions with you all.Here are a few pictures to start it off. She rolled onto her back on her cage, started saying "tickle tickle" and was like playing with my hand it was so cute!

Current Word List: (listing mainly actual words that are clearly spoken, a few sounds if they are distinct) I plan to update periodically if possible, just for my fun.

Oh my goodness Angel is so pretty, and so playful, and SO very trusting of you already!! What an awesome update!

Many of us use Photobucket (or other free photo hosting sites) to upload photos to, and when you insert them from there, they are much bigger.

Another option would be to upload the photos to an album you can create on the forum, then copy them individually and paste them into your post/thread. Then they are bigger as well. The downside to this is that members are limited to a certain number of megabytes that they are allowed to download.

Lol, she is beautiful! After 3 months Charlie is still playing "now you can touch me, now you can't " with me, so you definitely hit the jackpot in Angel as far as trusting you goes! Congrats! [emoji3] [emoji3]

I know when she first did it i bout died it was so cute!...found out tonight she also says "goochie goochie goo" when she wants to play/be tickled

It really is amazing how many things she will say in context, like i am 100% sure she knows why she is saying it. Like the word "ouch"...i bumped my elbow on the cage, didn't even make a big deal or act like it hurt and she says "OUCH" "Its OK"

She will also say "goodnight....I love you" when she knows its time for bed.

If you are doing something that she is curious about she will look at you trying to get a good look...then say "what are you doing?"

I updated the first post to include the words she says currently that i have heard, i did not attempt to include the numerous sounds, it seems to be endless and its hilarious.

Thanks milo, i truly feel lucky that i found such a great bird and that she decided i was ok almost from day one.

Angel on her back

I managed to get a short video of angel going on her back today. It was kind of tricky to do because you need both hands in order to get into position. So i got phone ready ahead of time. She is so calm about it, i really enjoy working with her. Took a little bit of work for her to reproduce it from the first time.

She also has been letting me fully open her wings and hold them their to inspect. Which is great.

Is there a preferred method to embed the video directly to the forum? Is only a 5 second video.

I am not sure, i have seen some other videos on youtube of greys going onto their backs.

Angle havin fun

Hey strudel, thanks for advice. I did try to use the image tags like normal, with no luck. I tried every option that was available on photobucket and it would not embed a video right into the thread. I have seen it elsewhere on here so i am not sure.

Were the other videos definitely on photobucket? Could be that photobucket isn't supported and the others were on youtube or somewhere else??? I don't know. Hopefully someone will, or start a thread in the site discussion section and ask.

Angel is amazing!! She is beautiful! It is so cool how quickly she started trusting you. My Peppers is a great bird as well, but I had to work to get her trust. It wasn't that quick. Which I understand is often the case with African Grey's. Angel is amazing for sure.
