How often do Amazon yellow naped lay clutches because she laid one egg yesterday but nothing today? :greenyellow: not sure if I pulled the egg too soon or if it takes a day or so for her to lay a clutch of 3 or 4

Well assuming that you are in North America (Parrot Forums is a Worldwide site), your YNA is fairly new to you, and you are not a Breeder, lots of surprises for you.

North America, Amazons are out of their normal laying period. Most laid one to three months ago. Clutches are normally one to three.

I recommend that you take your YNA to see her Certified Avian Vet (CAV). Females that are laying eggs need changes to their diet to off-set the loss due to egg laying. She will need a complete blood test.

Take the time to read the first two Threads in the Amazon Forum! The second one is a huge Thread with well over thirty Segments that you may find helpful.

Enjoy!

They normally lay every other day. Until they have a clutch. I'd you pull eggs as they lay them they will keep laying. Sometimes you could add fake eggs to keep them from laying more. I have had pet hens who will lay an occasional single egg, but this is unusual. Relocating her cage to a new area might help. Change her environment so she is not as comfortable about her situation.

Is she laying in her cage bottom? Try removing paper from cage and any other nest materials.
