Buster - CAG
Aloha to All,

My name is Terri., I joined the forum back in April, finally made myself sit down to do this. Just a quick note to introduce myself and Buster (is a female by DNA:64: CAG). I am Old and Buster just turned 12 yrs on June 11. Buster belonged to my father who passed away in Feb. My father loved her very much but for the last 10 yrs has been too sick to take care of properly. She was very rarely allowed out of her cage and her diet sucked. That has changed since she arrived in Hawaii at the beginning of April. Buster is my first bird. Not the ideal bird for a novice but I am on fast learning curve. Just want to thank you all here for all the sticky posts. I believe I have read them all. I will post more in the future.

Aloha, Terri! Nice to see you posting! Deepest condolences for the loss of your father, I'm so sorry. Thank you for giving Buster a loving home.

Welcome Terri! So sorry for your loss.

It's wonderful that you & Buster are together to help each other thru it.

I was the same way - read every sticky I could find :) They have sooo much great information. I think ideal first bird is subjective if you have a person willing to step up/research & do whats best for them that makes it ideal - sounds like Buster found that person!

Would love to hear more about you & Busters experience and of course pics :)

It can certainly be a confusing journey at times, but it's worth it that's for sure. And you never know, but the way you describe Buster, and your actions, you may soon find that she was indeed the perfect first bird for you.

Aloha to you. Sorry for your loss. This forum is helpful. It's nice that Buster has a good home. Together you both will get through it and enjoy the journey together.

Hi Terri! Welcome to the forum :). I'm sorry to hear about your father. Glad you've joined us with Buster. Lots of other Grey parronts here to learn from and share with!

Welcome Terri, very sorry you lost your father. Buster has a natural connection in that she was your dad's beloved companion.

Changing homes AND diet may prove challenging, but the latter is crucial for continued health. Also gives you plenty of opportunity to creatively introduce better foods.

Hi Terri and welcome to you and Buster!
I am so sorry about your Father. I am so glad that you have Buster, you can be a comfort to each other.
I'm really happy you joined us.

Welcome and be welcomed, sir. Buster is the ideal way to keep your dad's memory alive and close to you. Ask any questions you may have, and remember how smart parrots and in particular greys are. Smart and emotional too, so Buster is no doubt feeling his loss too. You'll get thru it together.
