Air purifier with ionic function

This is a pretty fancy air purifier my friend gave to me. It had an ionic function, should I always make sure this function is off? I plan to have it in the living room with Timneh. It has several different filters and is also a humidifier. Thanks for all the help again guys.

Everything that I’ve read says to keep the ionizer turned off - I’m definitely not an expert, but I believe that the ionize function isn’t good for birds.
