Birdman666;648722 How soon should I start doing this? I read somewhere a parrot needs to be left alone for a few days to get used to the new home and the new people said:That's a depends on the bird sort of thing.
If the bird likes you and wants to hang out with you, then why would you deliberately ignore it for two days... My last rescue zon rode home from the airport on my shoulder, with her head tucked under my chin.
You judge this by what the bird does, or does not, respond to...
My rule of thumb is quite the opposite. The first few days in a new home is your best chance to repattern the bird. New place. Somewhat bewildered. HERE IS YOUR NEW ROUTINE... Nothing threatening... It's all good. I don't know what they did to you in your last home, but you're safe, and loved and cared for here.
THEY RESPOND TO THAT.
ALL LIVING THINGS RESPOND TO LOVE AND PROPER CARE... it's just a fact!
