I have owned my B&G Kayko now for 10 1/2 years. He is 30 1/2 now. The weather has warmed to the 70's and I took Kayko and Clifford to the outdoor mall for my version of fun; putting Kayko on peoples' arms for cell phone pictures. By chance I met a girl and she asked what my B&Gs name was. When I said "Kayko" she replied "There can't be another Kayko" Her best best girlfriend had a B&G a decade ago named Kayko she gave up a decade ago before she moved to Arizona. I replied "Was her name Cindy Eggers?" and she said YES! She and this girl were really tight as her facebook picture are of the two of them together. She replied that she had mentioned many times she wondered what had ever happened to Kayko.
Five years ago I had attempted to take Kayko back to her former owner for a visit, and discovered she had moved. The neighbor erronously told me she had moved to Lake City where I investigated trying to find her phone number. I filled this girl in with all the details of how Kayko has had a wonderful life and has easily become the most photographed macaw in Jacksonville, easily being on the arms of at least 10,000 people in the past three years alone. This girl who has three B&Gs herself, took at least 20 pictures of him while I was there as well as my card. I can bet I will be hearing from her. I think she will be thrilled to see what has happened to him and how he has enriched the lives of so many people. It gave me a warm joy to be a part of this chance meeting. It is pretty bizzare to think I would bump into the one person who could contact her in a city of nearly a million people.
