Hi there,

Looking for some feedback please :)
I have a 3 month old baby who has been with me for a week now. I let him out about 4 times a day for about 20 minutes. Is this ok? He's progressing well with his flying, just wondered if I should be doing more at this age?
I have to split the day with my year old alexandrines flight time who currently rules the roost.
Any help would be brilliant thanks x :whiteblue::green2:

We are a single Amazon home and our guy is free roaming (not recommended for everyone) plus he is a strong flyer. In multi-parrot homes, having separate times when each Parrot is out and about is also fairly common as depending on the Parrots, disagreements can occur. So, if both are out, your oversight becomes very important. That all said, some Parrots get along well with each other.

Clearly, the more time out of the cage, the healthier it is for the Parrots as fly is great for them. So, if you can, increase the out and about time.

I'm surprised you can get him back him!

My ringneck spent hours upon hours outside when he was 3 months (he's only 4 months now).
I'm not sure what the answer would be, if he doesn't seem displeased about it, it should be fine. Maybe start upping the amount of time out he can have.
Wouldn't it be easier to do a 50-50 day? Few hours each at the time? I've never had multiple birds but my ringneck is out for about 10 hours a day and he can go back whenever he feels like it (which is when I have to force him back in..)

Thank you 🙂
Mine isn't the easiest to catch but at the moment his favourite place to sit is on my head! He is getting more difficult to persuade to go in the cage, but luckily he just flies straight back to my hair 😂
I'm sure this will change now he's getting more confident!
But thanks, I'll up his out time x :whiteblue:
