1 likes me, 1 hates me, and 1 ignores me

Roxy don't feel so bad all you can do is try. It may have nothing to do with anything really. I do know that not every parrot i handrear is going to love me. Once in awhile i get a little terror. Like the GCC hen that was such a sweetie until about a month ago, now she is a terror & goes out of her way to attack me.LOL. I have to laugh though she is so funny when she tries to get me through the bars. She gets really cranky if she can't get just 1 bite of me.

Seems to me you have to work extra hard to gain this birds trust.

Im the same with Pedro, I have raised babies in the past that was not nice to me and prefer other people over me. Hence the reason why I always say that even though you handfed your own baby, it does not mean its going to be a sweet baby towards you!!!

Willie's prefers the lady in his previous household but he chose me. Java is the same way as he chose the lady of the house as well. I've always had better luck with male birds as the females only tolerates me. Its been like this for years....dunno why....

I just wanted to add my thanks to you for helping these birds and I loved the photo!

I am now wondering how close you are to me, and if I could visit and meet you and the birds. I've never seen a Hy in person. Of course I'd lend a hand, too.

Hyacinth Macaw is absolutely beautiful to look at!!! That is my ultimate dream bird!!! I have seen them before in person but never got the chance to hold them.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with Azul, maybe you can find that special treat he loves that the shelter/store does have and bring it with you. Or a special toy like little shredders, he just needs to not feel threatened by you and realize that every time you come u bring good things he ONLY gets from you. Also remember to go as close as you can and then step back into his comfort zone each time trying to closer. I think it's called power pausing, it works well. Good luck!!

The store is in Grand Rapids, MI. I don't know if you're willing to drive that far lol.

Thanks to everyone else for your great support! :D After another week I might have an update about Azul and the others if interested!

Maybe once it's a little warmer out, I could come on my bike since it gets like 3x the gas mileage my truck does!

I'm going to try and borrow my friend's dslr camera and get the birds some justice with clear, bright pictures :)

So what happened with Azul when you went back?

Today he stayed in his cage all day. I ignore him, have my back to him when he's aggressive. I gave him a walnut, but that was tricky...had to distract him with one hand to get it in the cage cause the shell wouldn't fit through the bars. :p The manager does want to help me work with him, she says for now I should just sweet talk him through the cage, keep giving him treats. So we'll see!

Such gorgeous birds! Thank you for sharing the pictures :)
