Hi
I tried searching for pics of peoples bird areas, like the tree stands, ropes, perches etc. I see all the great pics of the birds but really need some ideas on how to make a play area for my macaw. The cage I have has a play gym on it with lots of toys. I also have a perch with a couple toys.

I would like to add more but I am more visual that's why I want to see some pics. I have a cargo net but she is still a little clumsy with her feet so until she gets better I will wait to introduce that.
She still hasn't figured out how to hold food in with 1 foot and balance and eat, she puts it in the bowl to eat it.

Thanks
Joe

Sorry, i realize thats probably not helpful to you...

This is with Raven's current cage (playtop) with neighbor Griffin showing it off...

This was with the dometop...

RavensGryf i love your playtop! I wish i had something that fun. :) Gonna keep working toward it. hehe

I'm probably crazy, but our whole dining room wall is a huge play stand. :D All my birds are flighted so it's all under the ceiling. The little curtained corner at the top of the cabinet is Parry's sleep and chill out place - he has a few perches and shelves there, and nobody else is allowed to go there except sometimes his little budgie friend. :) He is cage free, but sometimes chills with Murzik in his old cage. When I'm home they are all out and can have as much fun as they want. :)

Thanks everyone, I know there are more out there.
Birdman show your setup, you've been in it for awhile and know what works.

Hard to get the entire 'thing' in one pic...so here are a few partials.

Mine are 2 large java trees pushed together. Here is how the first one looked (before I got my GW..and second tree)

That looks like so much fun Wendy, and your birds are beautiful :)

Thanks Wendy, that was what I was looking for. Your birds look so Happy.
So if I see this right, Play Gym/Stand during the day and the other room is your Cages?
That is awesome.
Today I went to a bird store that just moved and they had a really nice big play stand, I will have it on Monday, didn't have all the cash with me, but it is nice and couldn't build it for what I paid. Plus picked up a lot of toys and stuff. You Macaw owners were so right RIO is going thru toys so fast. I stayed at a hotel a couple months ago and grabbed all the loofa's about 5, ZaZu has no interest but RIO is going thru them along with the wooden ladders. :11::D

Now to make more room.

Fargo and I recently had a room switch... We were in a large square room... Moved into a cooler smaller room, however 2 weeks ago the wall was cut down between rooms..

So now we have a super long room, which is larger than the large square room! haha

But I kinda separated us into 2 sections..

I am in the process of hanging things up and getting his stands back inside..

But this is his section of the room so far-

I like my section being dark haha... It took him a few days to learn how to fly through the gap.. But now he just flies full speed from one end to the other!

There is a tree in here for him to sit on, and then a cotton perch and a huge branch across the whole room length

and this was his old room, more like a jungle!

His favourite was a cat gym, unfortunately it couldn't handle being taken apart during the move as it was 2 years old, so that had to be chucked.. But it made an excellent stand for 2 years!

Australia is pretty slack when it comes to trees/perches/swings ect unfortunately !

Great thread idea!

Ravensgryf: That picture of Raven and Robin (before molt?) is adorable!

Those java trees most have cost a fortune!!!

I put some toys on top of appolos cage with a food dish. Just put perchez and toys every were. I also put a perch in the corner on my room.

Ah, Wendy. The pics don't quite capture the reality. Your twin java stand setup is massive! Sweet play area for your flock!

And I absolutely LOVE that pic of Ripley flying! Beautiful!!!

......

Yes, pretty much. I take turns with the Amazons and the Macaws. The only time they're all out at once (but not all on the trees) is in the morning during cleaning. I'm quite fortunate that my Amazons get along with each other, as do my big macs, so all of them get ample of 'out time' during the day. :)

Such fun setups!! What i great thread idea.
