Wish I could! Silly American programs not airing on UK tv...

That's one is liable to piss me off, having been involved in it myself for many years... it's gut wrenching.

My dvr is set....if i forget to put the tv on, i'll see the little red light and know to watch!!

I'm looking forward to watching this however I know that it will be very upsetting! I hope that the people that need to see this show watch it! I'm thinking it would be a good show for someone that has not done proper research on parrot ownership.

I agree. I also feel like it can help all of us renew our commitment to giving our very best, even on our worst days. Some of the best advice I ever heard given to potential bird owners at a store was: "you get what you give with a parrot. if you aren't willing to be devoted, don't expect to have the bird you wish for."

I won't be home tonight so I set my DVR :D Tomorrow will be watching it!!!!

I agree, I expect some sadness in it. But when you see a rescue first hand you know it's the truth

Wow that was amazing! I especially loved those young biologists in Costa Rica that were breeding scarlet macaws for release into the wild. That was awesome when they released that bird.

Good program. The rescue featured about halfway through, Feathered Friends Parrot Rescue, is where I got Simba. I haven't met the woman in the show (yet), but I dealt with one of her foster mom's.

is that the Rescue in Milan? good show the scarlet macaws were awesome and I loved the grey :)

That was just terrific :) I loved it - awwwwwww Lou and Princess!! I just love happy endings

I Loved it!! Especially the ARA part i follow their progress on fb. i didnt like that the samctuary had no foraging toys in the aviary but thats just me i guess. I think they were a bit one sided like saying parrots dont make good pets but i think they can if you put the effort, time, patience, and lots of research in but i thought it really was great and showed how much of a commitment parrots really are.

Interesting Jenga paid attention, I paid close attention to my lovebirds and parrotlets and they responded with some chirps but didn't seem very interested.

Re: Donā€™t Miss Out! ā€˜Parrot Confidentialā€™ Airs Tonight on PBS!

I dont know who watched the show or not, but man I almost feel guilty having pet birds now.
What an absolutely heart-breaking program.
Hopefully the people who needed to watch something like that did indeed watch it.

Well done PBS, well done...

Im not sure I agree with them folks in Costa Rica releasing captive-bred macaws and calling them wild... i mean they are naming the birds and hand feeding them, you dont name a bird or let it get imprinted on people if you intend to release it to be a wild bird.
Think of those Ca Condor "gloves" you see the wildlife folks raise baby condors with... no human imprinting whatsoever...

btw its on again on friday in the daytime...
