Well, the new Grey I am lucky enough to have as a flock member has a name on the list: Merlin. Although she has become Ms. Merlin.
My conure is Rowdy. My BC conure who passed away was Briana or Bri. My amazon, who I did not name is Pete. My budgies were Cricket, Budgie, and Barney. My parents cockatiel was Marco.
And strangely enough the name "Budgie" is on the list for budgies. My sister named him that and she was only about 6 or 7 years old then.
How about that? Rio (meaning River) is in the top amazon names, although I used those names for green cheeks. And Pepper is in the top Grey names (the name of the grey we want to adopt)
I didn't know if Rowdy was a boy or girl. All I knew was she was certainly rowdy! Briana got her name because on my way home from the breeder with her, I sang to her. And she really liked the song "Riannon" by Fleetwood Mac. So I thought of naming her that, but figured no one could spell it (including possibly me; not sure I spelled that right). So I said, well, Briana sounds similar. She usually called herself Bri though. The breeder was always a bit mad at me for that name though because she said she hated it. i didn't like the name she gave her though, which I no longer remember.
I don't actually know that Pete is a boy yet. He may really be a Pita or Petra. I'm going to have him/her tested soon because I'd like to know. He's acting more male so far, but we could be wrong. And he doesn't seem to respond to his name, which surprises me given his age (28) so I suppose if I changed it, it wouldn't matter much
I've seen other birds here also named Merlin so I guess I'm not surprised it's a popular name. Greys do look like wizards I suppose.

It's funny, just in the past week I met a grey named sammy, a too named baby and about a month ago I met a zon named buddy lol. I've also met a lot of conures named charlie. I wonder why people pick the same names for certain species, weird.
