My cockatiel has been making these weird wet exhale noises lately, almost like a hiccup or wheeze. It usually occurs after eating or drinking water, but not always. Lasts about 1 min or shorter. And goes away on its own.

here is a link to the video: https://youtu.be/OwHyjJJgugw

Anyone have any idea what this is?
He’s currently in Nystatin.

That’s the loudest beak grinding Cockatiel I have ever heard.
I think the noise is a sneeze but it does sound strange.

When in doubt have it checked out by a certified avian vet.

Because your tiel is also fluffed, and seems to have a very large crop. I worry your bird is sick. Any hint of being sick is usually a very sick bird, as they hide being sick. Getting in quickly with an avain veterinarian is very important to save birds. I would take no chance and get in quickly . If it turned out thst he had nothing then your are a lucky one.
I'm worried tho.

How old is your bird?
Checking weight can help catch sick burds. If you dont have a digital scale abd check weights, get one and start. When sick check daily, so yiu know if yiu need to get in touch with vet again to change medicine. Or to start supporting feeding with baby burd formula.
Sick birds burn twice the amount of calories . So they need to have all their favorite foods available and watched closely for weigh loss.

This is some info on sick birds, and the importance of supplement warmth. Supplemental warmth can help save burds.
