B&G Scratch on White Skin above beak

Walked into the room this morning and one of the wood perches was on the floor of cage and Coqui has 2 red markes/scratches above the beak on the white skin. did a lot of reading today and they say to clean with Chlorhexidine Gluconate (hibiclens) and watch.
Any other words of wisdom?

Isn't Chlorhexidine Gluconate an oral rinse?

If the scratches are merely a little red, and not actively bleeding, I personally would just leave them be. They will heal in no time at all. If you are worried about a possible infection, you could dab good ole' Hydrogen Peroxide on them with a clean cotton swab or clean cotton ball.

Actually, CG is an antiseptic that is most commonly used as an oral rinse but its original fame was as a replacement / second option as a surgical scrub in operating rooms for surgeons. It is a superb broad spectrum antibiotic solution that can be used to clean wounds and scrub operative sites per operative and is a great general hand-washing solution for health care providers.
Thanks for advice about face scratch. It is not bleeding and is a little less angry looking today. Thx. Linda
