Do female or male Galahs have the pink around their eyes?

I'd say if your using this to determine the sex of a galah your better off just getting a DNA sexing. I have a female (DNA tested) and she has dark brown iris's and no pink.

not to determine sex, just wondering. it's not uncommon that yours is female yet has no pink skin around the eyes as they usually only get it when they mature... many sites say the girls have pink skin around the eyes, but now this site says the males.... just curious as to which is correct.

The sex of a Galah isn't determined by the pink naked skin around the eye but the eye it's self. Males have a dark brown eye color & females have a pinkish deep red eye color. Usually after the age of 12 months it is easy to tell. All young birds have brown eyes.

Yep that is true.
I read that for some galahs, you will need to wait until they hit 4-5 years old when the females' iris goes lighter (more pinkish/redish). I know a lady of has two galahs (both gender) who experienced that with her female galah.

Your best bet is to get the DNA test if you wanted to find out sooner rather than wait for eye color change.

Dante is DNA tested male galah. A little over 2 years old (from what we were told). His iris color is dark brown.
