Bird cage company's- best to worst list

Hello, with us being new to the bird cage world, we would appreciate from you seasoned veterans, a list of company's from best to worst on quality.

Price is also important. As we all know, just because one is top dollar doesn't mean it's high quality. We are adopting a female Medium Sulphur Crested Eleanora Cockatoo. Yeah !

Is "King Cages" the best without breaking the bank ?

Also, who has the best prices ?

The problem with that, is there's not much around where we live, so if you find one out of reach, people just don't have a box larger enough and won't pack it well against damage. Plus, it will be worn and no warranty.

I have a marvelous pet supplies cage for both my birds. Bought from petco.com. good prices, free shiping. River has the chateau xl, Pepper has the bungalow. I really like them.

Be careful with Kings cages because some of them have a swing type door that swings up and down for access. Several times people report their bird is getting out. I too have marvelous cage and it is fine. Also like avian adventure cages.

Swings up vertically ? Wouldn't want that.
I haven't heard of "Marvelous" cages. I'll look them up. How's the quality & heavy duty versus King ?

Craigslist does have some really good cages actually. I check it about everyday and you can ask for pictures and go see them for yourself. Just know that we might be competing for cages as I'm only about an hour away from you

I currently have a Jenday Conure but met a Timneh Gray today and fell in love with the species. I'm thinking one will end up in my home by the end of the year.

One of my cages is A&E. I bought it initially for my Blue Crown conure. She wasn't exactly hard on it though. But, 11 years later it is still in excellent condition. My amazon lives in it now. He is a big boy, but he isn't hard on cages either. He doesn't try to break welds, nor does he chew on it. He also doesn't try to escape. This particular cage may not hold up to a Cockatoo though.

I did like that King's cage you showed me, Kevin. With the locking doors for the feeder cups, that is right up the alley of a Cockatoo escape artist. It also had super thick bars. I would be inclined to buy that one myself for a 'Too.

I've always loved the Grey's, especially after seeing "Alex" years ago & sadly he passed away. What a magnificent bird and extremely intelligent !

We just seem to like the cuddle and clown personally of the Too, but I'm like you, I'm sure well get a Grey sometime !

Yeah, I know how you feel as that happened to me as well cage shopping for Merlin. I'd have to find it again myself, and for that matter find the website it was on. I had it bookmarked on Firefox and then the whole thing crashed on me. Now I'm using Google Chrome and don't have my bookmarks anymore!

Like I said though, I don't know that it would hold up to a 'Too. It has only one latch for the door, and the food/water cup doors don't lock either. They just have a metal circle that pivots to allow them to open. And the top opens as well, which could allow a strong and crafty bird an additional escape route.

I don't remember now what they called this model. But, if you see a cage of theirs you like, it hasn't rusted and none of the powder coating has come off.

Oh, wait, did you mean the King's cage? It was the first one on the page of macaw cages. The one in the picture was green but it came in other colors, too. I think it had a playtop on it. It was maybe 40by30?

I saw one similiar to that , but it was bigger and a A&E cage.
Can a macaw open it's wings comfortably in the one pictured ?
I tend to get the biggest cage , my too looked lost and very small in it for a few days , .lolol. :white1:
