I am very interested in putting my birds on roudybush small size.
I think I only use zupreems because it was available locally at petco.
What do you guys think? roudybush or zupreems? My local store also carries harrisons and lafebers pellets

I prefer any of those three to Zupreme--- the colored zupreme uses sugar dyes. I will feed a little bit of it for variety, but not very much. Also, have you ever tasted any of these pellets? Harrison's and Roudybush (especially Harrison's) have a pleasant nutty flavor--- Zupreme just tastes nasty to me. LOL!

My new little Sun Conure is on Roudybush and he LOVES the pellets (small sized). He uses his feet to eat them and spends a majority of the time inside his cage eating them. I've never seen him angrier than the time I took his pellets away because he was screaming. They are like treats for him, which is funny because they are the main part of his diet.

They don't have preservatives or artificial coloring so they are also a trustworthy brand health-wise.

I know they're expensive, but I definitely recommend them:)

Pritti is on a kitchen-food only diet now (with an occasional few pieces of zupreem veggie flavor), but when I switched his fruity zupreem to the natural zupreem a while back, he LOVED it and never even had a break-in period. The two a-vets in the area both sell it and recommend it, along with RB and Harrisons. I don't recall ever trying RB.

I use medium-size Roudybush for my GCC and she loves them. I like the medium-size because she can pick them up with her foot and chomp on them. I think that's probably fun and stimulating for her. I think Roudybush has a slightly higher fat content than at least Lefeber's, which I speculate may be why my GCC has such shiny feathers.:green2:

zupreem has had a few huge recalls lately, and the colored foods cause their feces to stain anything it lands on. Also the colored foods prevent you from knowing if anything is off with your bird, because they change the color of their feces

here is the safety re-call for ZuPreem foods. this was last year.
I have always found ZuPreem excellent in their quality care. I was told the recall was due to machinery malfunctioning on the assembly line.

I would still pick RB, it's better quality....or you can mix the both together.

compare ingredients honestly because I use none of the above and I have heard good and bad about the tropican I use.

that's what I use, but they have no artificial dyes or colourings.
I think as long as you provide veggies, fruits, leafy greens etc....they can eat any pellet really, or seed for that matter.
I know my birds eat better than I do :)

Boomer eats Zupreme natural. But he's never really been big on pellets, it's probably 5-10% of his diet. It's mostly a variety of veggies and fruits, boiled white rice, a few seeds and nuts, occasional salmon and chicken. He gets supplements in the form of Red palm oil, calcium powder, cuttlebone, mineral blocks, cinnamon, nutriberries.

I might later move to Harrison's when his Zupreme runs out because I hear a lot of good things about it. Even then I won't make him eat only that.

Mine eats Roudybush and loves it. They don't sell it at any local pet stores but I bought my conure about a half hour away and they sell it in bulk by the pound and allow me to call and make an order to have it shipped!

I mix my Roudybush and Zupreem together and give my sun a mix of both. However, it seems that he enjoys the Roudybush better. Now, when I am finally out of the Zupreem I may discontinue that and just give him the Roudybush. I haven't noticed any problems with the Zupreem though, no staining, diet problems, etc. His weight is good, shiny feathers, and vet says he looks great, so. hey.

My vet recommends Harrisons primarily. However over the last decade i have used Harrisons, Zupreem and Roudybush. I think in terms of "human grade organic" ingredients, Harrisons wins, but I also believe that the other two are nutritionally sound. Besides, pellets are only a part of the bird's diet, with fresh food being the rest of the diet. I like to mix pellets to keep it interesting too. I have a small bag of harrisons pepper, harrisons standard and roudybush and i sprinkle a little of each in the bowl and sometimes a nutriberry too. It just looks more 'fun' to me with the different textures and flavors. If i were going to eat pellets on a daily basis, i'd want to mix it up a bit! :) (and my Gilbert's favorite is the Roudybush)

Mine is more about shapes, she won't touch rowdybush or anything that has a cylindrical shape. Only ovals or round
