I was surprised how well she took it. Karen said she let her play with it and then just wrangled her into it while she did her roly poly routine. She thought it was a great game. Didn't stay outside long though because it's pretty hot here in Houston.

Zoe looks like she's loving her outside adventure and she looks perfectly comfortable in her harness.

Congrats, now you can take her everywhere, LOL. I wish i could get my nape to tolerate a harness.

Great! Now the fun can begin outside too! :)

I know Robin is terrified of it. I won't try it with him again since he's older, and it would stress him out over more time than it's worth, but will try soon with Raven and Griffin.

You know what would be an adorable idea? I'm thinking of getting a very small aluminum (?) engraved dog name tag for the harnesses if they will wear one. A larger bird like Zoe can even use a plastic cat or small dog tag. :)

I'm not even going to try with the sennies. Half the time the front door closing causes them to freak out and fly off their cages. They are pretty tolerant of manhandling, but I doubt seriously they are tolerant enough to allow me to put on and take off a harness.

what a sweet lil baby!

Aww...that's so great!

What a beautiful girl!! I just tried my baby Caique in her new harness and didn't have the luck you did! It must be so nice to have the outdoors now part of her life experience. Congrats!

I'm telling you, these guys and the little red fronts are THE EASIEST macaws to train. They trust, they love, they are uber-smart, they pick up just about anything, and if you make it a game, everything is a game to them... they just accept it as FACT! New game? Show me!

Zoe looks so happy to be outside with Karen:) I am so glad that she had no trouble with the harness, she is one of a kind, my friend.

and can snap the plastic tag in half effortlessly... Trust me, sweepea has bitten my plastic sunglass frames in half!

I love her little 'fro in the second picture!!! Too cute :) And she wears that harness mighty beautifully if I do say so myself ;)

Rachel's BTM was named Spike, cuz he always had that little spikey headfeather thing going on...
