Her new game is to fly to the linnie cage and terrorize them as she starts to dismantle their cage.

She knows she's not supposed to go there. I know this because she flies over there and then looks at me so she can judge how much time she has before I get to her.

Anyway, when I go over and say "No!" And try to get her to step up she gives me a little pinch. And if I grab the beak she flings her head around. However, if I grab her like a football she leans back against me and fluffs up like baby mac. I'm beginning to think she's training me.

What a naughty bird! Though, I do like the description of "picking her up like a football":D Sounds like she wants more cuddle time and knows she'll get it if she goes and bugs the other birdies;)

I can so picture that! Zoe is something else:)
So does she seem pleased that your training is coming along so well?
:):):)

If it makes you feel any better, I went through the exact same thing with sweepea at that age!

Only in her case she dismantled the playstands, and ran around disconnecting the other bird's toys... and when I put her in time out, she just took her cage door, or treat cup door off, and went right back to doing it, as if to say - HA! IN YOUR FACE, I'M SMARTER THAN YOU ARE...

Drove me nuts for a couple of months, and then it just stopped. It's a phase. Be firm, but resist the urge to strangle!

Well, give her the benefit of the doubt here! Maybe she's just confused and she thinks she is a linnie, and she's.. trying to.. get back into the cage where she belongs. That's it!

Also, speaking of Zoe.. there have been no Zoe pics for a while!!!

Lol, I love that Zoe checks to see where you are so she knows how much time she has to terrorize the Linnies. Very clever girl.

Well, let's face it:

Terrorizing the linnies is something of a SPORTING event! [First we run around a bit, play big bad birdie. Then we work on the puzzle toy a little. Then Mom comes over and gives me attention. This is fun!]

With Sweepea, it was chasing Tusk. Then Tusk learned the double back and grab a beak full of macaw tail...

From that point on it was NOT the macaw that was instigating the "chase me game." And somewhere along the line, the birds themselves made up their own "rules" for this game where certain offensive conduct was not permitted.

After that it became a game...

Sweepea and Tusk, however, are roughly the same size.

Linnies are not in as good a position to solve this little problem themselves...

(So that would be more like Tusk, when he used to chase conures around their cage and laugh at them... )

Usually they all dash into their huts when Zoe flies over. She then starts to take all the toys off the cage from the top and then she moves onto dismantling the door if I don't get over there quick enough.

THAT IS EXACTLY THE SORT OF STUFF SWEEPEA PULLED AT THAT AGE... RIGHT ON SCHEDULE.

It really is just a phase. Be patient. (And firm!)
