Had a good laugh yesterday as I heard something new from our rescue CAG, who has been with us about three months now.
I was in the kitchen making a batch of chili, which for me is about a three hour process. I turned on a an Internet virtual radio station (my "Stevie Ray Vaughn" station on Pandora) and turned up the volume to a farily high level. (Birds were in another room).
After a while I noticed Zeus was vocalizing along with the music. He seemed to be whistling what seemed to be lead guitar riffs, as if we was playing along...not mimicing the actual instruments on the songs, but rather adding his own complementary riffs.
It might've been my imagination, but it did continue to happen over the course of a couple of hours.
Maybe his former owner was musical.
This was especially fun because our Senegal doesn't seem to like music. In the past, Tyrael has screamed whenever I've played music in the room where his cage is. Yesterday he didn't seem bothered by the music--maybe Zeus showed him how to enjoy it a little.
It was also funny because Zeus's whistles are often off key. He seemed to do better with the recorded music. Maybe his former owner whistled off key, too?
Unfortunately, neither bird was impressed with the chili.
