Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
... just wondering if anyone here shows birdie youtube vids to their fids? ;)

Amy just LOVES 'em! There is one particular subscriber I follow a lot. <Angeleyeboidan> and he does a ton of postings of his M2. He is an excellent parront and Mr Max is an awesome 'too, and when Amy hears Max talking to Dan,or just carrying on,Amy starts in with her routine, answering Max back lol.
I have brought Amy into my office and sat her on the back of my chair, and play Max's vids for her and I can see the excitement in her face when she watches. When Max says "Hiiiiiiii" <which is quite often> Amy is right there answering back. She gets all fluffed up and her tail goes out,and those little eyeballs of hers pin away..she clearly enjoys the show lol.

Yes I play videos for mine. I havent started playing them yet for Mr Biggles but Peter Pan and Roger used to watch them together all the time when Roger was still with us...in fact Roger had an online girlfriend and he would watch this video of her over and over again and even walk around the computer screen to see if he could find her behind it and he soon cottoned on to the fact that I switched her video on and off so he'd charge at me when he saw my hand coming to switch off the video...that was the only time thst Roger ever lunged at me was when Id go to switch off his lady friends video...he would chatter away to her for ages...another thing he and Peter Pan loved were cartoon videos. Peter Pan still watches cartoons on tv... I dont have great internet now like I used to have before the internet service company closed in our area but Peter Pan also enjoys watching a video of herself from time to time :)

All the time... her favorite place at work is on my computer monitor (I have dual monitors) so when she's sitting on one she watches the vids on my other one & I can still work. I love the Max videos (and so DID she) I banned them once she started yelling like a 'too and copying him lol I now have to watch them alone away from her like a dirty lil secret.

You're right tho it is sooo cute to see the look of excitement when she recognizes certain birds she does a back and forth dance on the monitor and talks right back to them.

Oddly enough she doesn't really pay a lick of attention to the TV no matter what's one but loved YouTube

Be a bit carefull one of my friends used to do that with her DYHA after watching some videos her bird now screams like a cockatoo been like that for a year really loud

Yep! Parker came to us "singing" (not really singing, more like demonic speaking) the old guys and dolls song "I love you a bushel and a peck". So that's now his theme song. When we are feeling lovey dovey with him we will play that for him.

We've discovered he LOVES Adele, and will coo along to most of her songs (and comes even letting a short operatics lot held note with vibrato and everything) so we like playing that for him too.

That's so interesting Chris.. I think it's a lot of fun finding songs she likes and watching her reactions. She loves pop and oldie songs a lot and anything that has electronic or laser sounds in it lol she does her own karaoke renditions combining whistles, words and sounds when she really likes a song.

I audio record her a lot at work mainly so the kids can play back at night since she seems to do/say all of the cool stuff when it's just the two of us at the office. When we play back it's amazing how often she will be one step ahead making the exact sounds/words/whistles etc. So what seems like random vocalizing/sounds/whistles to me at the time apparently aren't to her. Her eyes pin like crazy when she is listening to her own sounds/songs.

The other benefit was hubby had to stop telling me "no way she didn't say that" :)

Every day! Ruby, the baby, and Dan all love to watch videos but they prefer watching their own species. I showed the baby many videos of babies eating because he was hungry but not eating formula. After a day, he began eating like he's supposed to. Correlation doesn't prove causation, but I'll take what I can get

I know this is in the amazon thread but.
I play youtube vids for my cockatiels, not to WATCH but to listen to.
as soon as they hear another cockatiel they start to " call" back.
Even when the cockatiel is talking they recognize that the sound is coming from another Tiel.
My amazons don't do much when playing vids of other amazons.

I have. I even leave the TV on rolling through YouTube videos when we leave the house. Buddy my GCA perks up and will start talking, closet talking that is. Venus doesn't really show interest. Now I did post a thread of Buddy wolf whistling around two years ago and The Captain played it and it got his entire house wolf whistling, lol! Buddy replies to all bird videos which I love.

Yup, Monty seems to find Toos very interesting, including Max, Pebbles, and Gotcha. He also likes hearing and seeing other DYHs and will normally walk behind the screen to see where they are.

However, he only gets small doses of this (Gotcha's temper tantrums are hilarious, as he is a very accomplished talker) as we don't want him picking up 'Too ranting.

Music is his love though, and when I have the tunes going, he talks, yells, squwaks, pins, and makes whatever sounds he has in his repertoire. No easy listening for Monty though - he likes rock, metal, screamo, and opera.

The Cockatoo Man loves/loved classic rock, especially Pink Floyd and U2. I'd crank up "Comfortably Numb" and he would immediately turn his head towards the speakers and raise his hat,and do his "this way and that way" with his head..if Sunday,Bloody Sunday" was playing he would go into his full blown antics of hopping and jumping all over his roof top,and tapping his little foot in beat with the song..silly little :white1: that he is!

Yeah, same here. Uglow and I watch parrot videos all the time. He's even sat through some nature documentaries while on my shoulder. Probably knows Sir David Attenborough's voice better than mine.
