I must say, since I've posted this post, Kumar had cooled in his fervent ardor...he doesn't hump or even try at this moment. But we'll see what happens after winter solstice when the days lengthen. Gadget, my HBIC (head bird in charge) is no different, he's been humping at least 4-12 times a day, every day for 10 years.....with that said, he's the most robust, healthiest, strongest bird I've ever had. So hump away bad boy!

Our lovebird Motley (RIP) was "in love" with a rope triangle! He would go at it like crazy, regardless of what was going on e.g., house full of guests and he wouldn't stop!! We would always laugh at his "don't care who's watching" attitude!!! Thankfully it was never a human - lol (sorry)

Of all the years I've had birds, I've had/have a few mature males, and I can say I've only seen this act ONCE! When I saw my Budgie Twigs hump his late friend Pix in a show of dominance. Other than that... This year for the first time, I MAYBE, SORT OF (but not quite sure) saw Robin do a suspicious move while sitting on my hand for a quick second.... He turned 20 this year. Usually the only noticeable hormonal thing he does is bite viciously!
