Since I've had such a terrible time with raising day old chicks and having them die, this little one is doing great.....better!
It's been 48 hours since we started feeding him and I wanted to get your opinion on what u think he looks like.
I just have to mention this....Yolo would not have made it this far without me taking the good advice from MikeyTN. the live bacterial yoghurt has done wonders!
normally by now they have all died, but again some could have died for unknown reasons.
It's a long fall for those babies(4 feet drop) and by the time I get to them they are cold, and it doesn't take long for them to start to deteriorate.
some of it was probably my stupidity for not giving them the yoghurt. I don't know why I never did this sooner, I've never done this with my baby cockatiels or my lovebirds, never had to, but finches are so different, extremely delicate and so very very tiny!!! now if I have to feed any other day old chicks regardless of what they are they are getting yoghurt....I can't believe I didn't do this sooner
all I can say is I am getting excited!! I am trying not to be given what has happened in the past, but I can't help myself.
my daughter Sarah named him YOLO(You Only Live Once)
I truly love the name, I think it's very positive and up beat, and fitting toothe white liquid in his mouth was from the feeding formula
here is YOLO
