Yet another 'help me, I have a screaming conure!'

Even if you can't find a suitable sleep cage there might still be hope. If you do what most seem to do with a sleep cage and have only water in there, it's possible he gets bored and that's why he started chewing the bars. Maybe try his old sleep cage but with one small quiet chewy toy in it & put a tiny bit of food in just before you try to sleep. When he gets up he'll be quiet and have something to do. It would be worth a shot especially since you'd have to wait til your birthday to get a new sleep cage.
My little guy never let's me sleep past 8:30 because I take his food away at night. If I get up, feed him, & lay down on the couch I can get a lot more sleep since he's full and occupied.

He had three hanging toys and a large food dish full of foot toys in his sleep cage, with food and water and a tent. He still chose to chew the paint off the bars. I'm not gonna take the chance and put him back in it. I'm still browsing sites, but haven't found anything without painted bars for under $200 and none the right size/bar spacing (allotted budget is $50, which probably isn't gonna happen).

Have you looked into 'non-toxic' painted cages? Granted, any paint is probably not a good thing - but those powder coated cages are VERY expensive. The cage the pet store recommended for Skittles cost over $400 which was not in my budget. I got a cage for about $100 at Petco. It's painted, but it's non-toxic. He's rarely in his cage anyways, so $400 for a cage seemed a bit steep to me. I paid more for his playstand than I did for his cage.
