Good Evening Guys, i need help here.. Which my amazon parrot having parrot. This afternoon ard 12pm plus, which i Hand feeding him with syringe and attached with tube. And i did not notice that the tube when into his crop. I call up my breeder for help, and when down to his house to check and pull out. But we had tried about 2hrs. But still cant find the tube inside the crop. So what am i going to do now? wanted to bring to vet, But over here Vets already Close. And tomorrow is sunday which is my kid birthday also. So i really dont know what to do now. Right now his is ok active eatting pellets well...

I am sure you should call vet asap! Tube in crop can not be a good thing. If you have an avian vet, they have someone on call.

You have a baby YCA, which is transitioning from tube feeding to solid food and you believe that during feeding, the tube was lost into the YCA's crop, correct? You have double checked that you had used the tube and it is not in its normal place or around where you had been feeding, correct?

You state that your YCA is eating pellets, since the lost of the tube had occurred, correct?

Is your YCA stretching its neck while opening its beak and possible twisting its head? How often?

Your Vet's office has closed for the Weekend. Do they have an Emergency Contact phone number or do they provide /recommend an Emergency Clinic for Weekend and Night time Emergencies? If they do, please call that number or visit that Emergency Clinic, quickly!

If none of that is available, you have a potential of a very stressful 48+ hours ahead of you. Continue to feed as normal, but be very watchful of any sights of difficulty taking /feeding or eating while your YCA is eating pellets.

If you are unable to contact Emergency Services, plan to be at your Vet's Offices first thing Monday Morning. Commonly, the Vet Techs and support staff are at the Clinic by 7 am Monday morning!

Absolutely agree with SailBoat's above post! Even if your own vet doesn't have an emergency contact number, try doing a search for a 24-hour emergency vet hospital. This could become a very serious issue.

Keeping your amazon in my prayers. Please keep us updated.

Sorry my English is very bad. So i may not understand well on what you guys saying.

After bring back home from my breeder which he is the 1 who breed the YCA and buy from him. He was taking a hours plus to check weather the tube is inside the crop or not. But there is nothing to feel at all. Even he feel the hole which the food enter to the pipe, also cant feel. So we worry may when in to the stomach or whatever. I try to call the vet for 24hrs, But the charges is too HIGH cost, Which Current im shortage of money for the Vet.. As i mentioned Tomorrow is my kid birthday Party, which i got party to celebrate for her, and need Pay money to the buffer Cost and cake..

So right now i am posting see what can i do right now? And i will 100% bring to vet if still cannot settle by sunday.. So i will bringing to Vet on monday..

Right now i tried to hand feed him he dont really wanna to take the formula. But he took some pellets by his self. And he is acting normal. He didnt stretching the neck, didnt open beak, and twisting the head...

Checking just now my YCA poop only. First time see so black and dark. His is formula, and daily pellets from zupreem.

Dark /Black Poop is NOT a good colour. It is consider a sign of internal bleeding, commonly within the digestive track.

Please contact your Breeder to confirm and seek Medical Services Quickly!

Please understand that we are not Vet's! That said, it is never a good sign when the Poop is dark /Black.

Check, check check the area where you were feeding! So often the missing tube is found! If you have dogs, they could have easily grabbed it!

This is the best advice anyone can give you. Please don't wait, you're baby bird needs emergency vet care as soon as possible. The black stool is a very bad sign. Your little bird can't afford to wait until Monday.

I hope we haven't offended you, I apologize if we have. We are just very concerned for your baby parrot, if he has in fact swallowed the feeding tube, he could be in critical condition before Monday.

We are all hoping for a good outcome for you and your baby bird, please keep us updated.
