I was introduce by a friend from singapore. We bought back our first zon home about two weeks ago. We name her as Pong Pong. She is about 7 months now. He bites for the first few days. But now I can cuddling and interaction with Pong Pong.
Now I have a question about her behavior. She is more aggressive during afternoon time. She bit or show aggressive who is near to her. But during night time there is no such problem
Is it normal or and way to train?

Regards
Jason

Your new baby Pong Pong is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Many congrats on bringing her home. :)

It's possible she is either a bit tired OR too worked up in the afternoon. You will soon learn her body language, and you'll know whether she is in cuddle mode or not.

GREAT pictures!!! :D

There are times when amazons simply will let you know they don't want to be handled. Usually when they are in a "content place" and don't want to be disturbed.

Their body postures mean something, and they will usually signal you with their body that they don't want to be picked up right now. You will pick up on this as you go along.

I bite pressure trained mine, and she knows to push my fingers away with her beak when she doesn't want to be messed with. If she does that to me, I take the hint.

Primarily this will come as the bird bonds with you, and you bond with the bird. Learning is a two way street with parrots. You end up meeting them half way sometimes.

Yellow crowned amazons are actually one of the easier and more personable zons to work with, and they are one of the better talkers.

Beautiful baby...

Beautiful baby...

Thanks Birdman666.
I will pass the your reply message to my wife,
Sherron. Now she is afraid of bites.
Hope her bonding with Pong Pong will be smoothly and happily. .

Welcome Jason.
Got your YCA from GW?

It takes time with zons to get used to everything. My guy took 3 weeks before the bites subsided. A lot of it was as Birdman666 said; being able to read his cues.

The way we won our zon's heart was to feed him lots of treats as he learned to step up and allowed us to touch him. Zons LOVE food!
