Rosie has her second full exam by an avain vet today. It is such a good practice with three avain vets in one place. Those of you from Md. most likely know this to be in Fallston, Md. Oh boy was Rosie stressed and exhaused by the visit. She could hardly peep on the long ride home. She was handled with such care and expertise.
As you know they look for the calcium level in greys. Norm is between 7 and 10. She was very pleased Rosie is at 9.2 so her diet is excellent per vet. Vet said Rosie is a very robust Timneh. Well muscled from 2 months of flying. So her wings are clipped, toes trimmed and all blood work and stool normal. Yea she passed with flying feathers so to speak. When she was toweled the vet told me the BP goes up. So much that the white around the eyes turned dark pink like she said it would. Rosie was so nervous in the beginning she vomited and flicked it over the staff in the room.

One interesting thing we discussed was adding a second bird with a bonded grey you already have. She said not to do it because Rosie would never understand and it would just not work. Also that her sexual maturity will begin about 3 or 4 years of age.

Thanks for putting up with such a long description but I thought some others may be interested.

Great news there's nothing better than the reasurance of a vet that your doing things right and your bird is in perfect health

Poor Rosie getting so stressed hope she's ok now and enjoying being safely back at home
