Well......My husband and I got Kiwi's primary flight feathers clipped. She can no longer fly. We wrapped her in a towel and I held her very gently. He clipped the first 2 primary flight feathers. It was quite painless and she didnt react nearly as bad as she did at the vet. She's mad at me of course, wants to stay in her cage which is understandable, but she did come out and let me pet her. My husband and I decided that from now on we will be the ones to clip her wings. He did a terrific job and she looks absolutely beautiful. Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that she's fine but I still plan to call the vet on Monday morning and let them have the what for.

I read both posts, and I'm glad Kiwi is feeling better and that she is stepping up and trusting you again.

Happy to hear you've got her 'patched up'. I'd be terrified of clipping my birds wings, but well done to you both for doing it - and definitely give the vet what for, it's absurd that they claim to be avian/very good with birds and then butcher your babies wings like that. :(

Glad you're all okay and she's coming out and not being too grumpy about the clip!
