I've been wanting a male budgie to the point of distraction. I finally made the trip yesterday to Palm Beach to a pet store in the flea market who advertised they had budgies. I think I finally got the male I've been wanting 
I wasn't all that fond of green but he's pretty and mottled looking, sort of a lime/turquoise rather than a solid green.
And he was super friendly with this little girl so I brought her home too
And of course I had to get a larger cage..or two
The down side is that my husband put his foot down and I had to rehome 2 of my parakeets. So skitzo and baby blue went to my neighbors who loved them on sight and I get to visit them
I kept gris cause she cracks me up with her antics. she's already bossing the bigger budgies around. It's now obvious she's not full budgie but she doesn't look full parakeet either so she must be half. I'm hoping she teaches the budgies to eat their veggies and play with their toys. It seems to be working, I've seen the male nibbling at the toys and someone has been in the veggies today.
Both budgies are semi tame, they don't freak out when you pick them up like pet store parakeets do, nor do they bite. But I did have to clip their wings a bit. They flew too well and landed on top of Chili's(sun conure) play top which she was not happy about. She doesn't want to share and budgies scare the crap out of her, plus gris pecks at her if she gets too close so she's already learned little birds aren't nice lol
