Would a ringneck get bullied?

Hi all

i own a orange winged amazon Marley.. he is very chilled out and never bites us and is kind of a perch potato.. i was wondering if i was to introduce a ringneck into my new flock if he/she would get bullied by the larger amazon or visa versa?

i know it all depends on the bird but I was wondering if there was a rule of thumb when it comes to mixing parrots together?

You may really upset your current perch potato. Which may cause him to act in ways you have never seen before.

There are no guarantees they would get along. I have two birds, a senegal and a parrotlet. They are both female and the same age, even born in the same month. They are both two yrs old, and they hate each other. I got them both at 4 months old, so they have had plenty of time to get used to eachother. They are extremely jealous when one is getting attention. Recently my parrotlet gave my husband a nasty bite when he went over to her, after spending time with my senegal. She was not happy with him and let him know it. haha his feeling were a bit bruised, but he survived.

When my conure was alive, my daughters lovebird was his best buddy. They sat on each other, pulled the legs out from underneath each other, snuggled, and spent all their time together. The lovebird has NOT been the same since Wilbur died. My daughter is considering getting another conure, in hopes that her bird will become happy again...but who knows?

Our ringnecks...we had Tiki first, and she picks on Pippin ALL the time. She'll chase him out of his cage and grab his tail. Yeah...she's a bully. He is getting older though and is beginning to stand up for himself. They are reaching a greater tolerance for each other as time goes by (we've had Pippin for just under two years!)

I don't think there is a "rule of thumb" for any animal. I have had cats who never got along, even years later, and cats and dogs that were best buds, and otehrs that hated each other.
