Worth a Vet Trip?

Hi there,

I uncovered my budgie Limoncello this morning to find him with green watery diarrhea stuck to his vent. I know this can sometimes be caused by eating too little so I've given him lots of millet and ordered a bag of his favourite pellets as he's not a giant fan of the ones I have out currently.

He's acting completely normal, vocalising frequently, has no other discharge and the rest of his feathers are clean, most advice online says give it a few days and a trip to the vets would be a bit costly so I'm wondering if I should give it a bit of time or not?

I've seen it before and just turned off the light, picked him up and washed the vent off in the sink. Budgie was fine after. Might have eaten something different, no idea.

Wellllllllllllllllllll... I like the above advice, butttttttttttttt...
As the neighborhood paranoiac, I'd go to the vet. At the very least it'd be a good experience for the bird... getting used to the drill, in case of illness.

This seems to be much the case so far for mine too. A good clean and he's been completely fine.

Thanks a lot for the links, hopefully I can find one for my area of the UK in there.
He's now clean and seems completely fine but if he gets another bout of diarrhoea in the next few days or I notice swelling of the crop I'm going to take him over right away.

Hopefully a good wash would be answer, but if he hasn't seen a vet in a while a check up couldn't hurt, the bill to be seen isn't as much as I thought it would be. Good luck and best wishes

I would go to vet. But until you can find one, I'd put clean white paper towels in the bottom of his house daily to monitor his poop. So every morning you can see how it looked that night. I'd change it 2x a day.
