I found a wonderful guy who raises hatchlings as a hobby and then places the birds after they have been weaned. He is very knowledgable about every aspect of parrot care and an all around genuinely nice guy!

He's got a very beautiful and big female Yellow Naped that is soon to be mine! I'm so excited.

I'm on the search now for the biggest cage at the best deal I can find (wish me luck on the hunt lol).

Here she is! Second pic is after a bath, so that's why her feathers look slick and dark in spots. Her really dark feet jump out to anyone else? I've never seen a YNA with such dark feet.

Thank you! She is 4 months old : )

That is awesome!!! I'm a firm believer in getting them as young as possible just for better bonding. :)

Here's Shiloh, hard to see in the pic but the yellow stripe on the head looks just like yours

Shiloh does look very simular! Thanks for sharing.

I should have her by the end of the month : ) I just need to get everything ordered for her and set up. He also wants to keep her for about two weeks longer to make sure she is fully weaned.

Sounds like a great person you are getting her from: It would be so nice if all Breeders made sure their Birds were fully weaned before letting them go!

Hey Missy, welcome to YN fan club. Are you sure she's a she? Sure is a good looking bird. Is the broker close enough that you can visit often? Can't wait til she comes home.

Hey Henpecked! He says she is a she, but I don't think we discussed DNA testing. Honestly, I wouldn't mind either way. Does something lead you to believe it's a HE?

No, the bird is not local. I am in Indiana and the bird is in NY.

I was just following your lead, I'm the world's worst at guessing sex. If i say a boy ,It's sure to be a girl, LOL Are you going to get a chance to visit ? Is he shipping ?

Thanks Mike... I already buy everything I need from her, but I didn't consider a cage...

Haha...I guess I would just like to know for name purposes... No, I won't have a chance to visit, but I've spoke at length with the owner and he's assured me that she will go to anyone and does not have a preference as far as male or females. Honestly, I also got a great deal on her and the option for a payment plan, so that influenced my decision as well. The owner raises the chicks just for what he gets out of doing it. He's not in it for profit, and most often is actually out money on each bird.

congrats very pretty bird. Also look on craigs list you can at times find a very nice cage there for cheaper prices.. Alison and sweetie pie:D

Just ordered her cage and all the accesories! Can't wait for it all to arrive. I'll be sure to post pics of her set-up once it's all put together. Yay!

Wow what a beautiful baby. Good luck and congratulations! :)

Beautiful baby. He does have dark feet, but they may lighten as he gets older. My yellow napes are on the smaller side with a lot of the parvipes subspecies in them. Aften they start out with fairly dark feet and then fade over the first couple years.

Thanks Melissa. I wasn't aware of the feet lightening up over time.
