Wood Turtle Care, Natural History

Great article . I have only seen one live one in my back yard when I used to live in Mass. beautiful turtle and no I didn't keep him though I was tempted.;) We had 2+ acers of land with our own swampy pond in the woods and lots of good things for him to eat. He looked like a happy turtle:)

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you saw one in the wild...not common here in the NE, I'ver only seen a few over the past years, despite being in good habitat..Hope we both see more, Frank
 
Frank I doubt it I now live in Fla A mile from the Gulf of Mexico near Englewood Fla. I have found one very pretty box turtle that I did keep for three days then put him back exactly where I found him and heading in the same direction. Here I help lots of gopher tortises across the street as well as soft shells, and cooters. I love the wildlife down here:)
