I did ask about price and she was pretty firm. He has only been for sale for 6 days, so maybe that will change the longer he is up there.

Here are a couple of pictures of him. My first time using Photobucket, so hope it works..lol

Wahh :( That's really sad! I hope you can adopt him!

I do not condone animal abuse! I suggest getting this poor guy. DX

Look how pretty he is! You just need some more green in that flock.. More blue, and it looks like SOMEBODIES got a blue (and red) tail!

C'mon, do it for the blue. You need blue to get more variation. It makes everyone happier

Holy smokes, look at that "cage" - if you can even call it that. :(

He's a GORGEOUS boy, Terry! I truly hope you and Reg (aka Mr. Terry) can do something for him. :)

that is disgusting, omg.
that poor bird, he doesn't look too bad, but the conditions are vile.

all you need is money eh?, how frustrating it must be for you!

 Did they build that "cage" themselves? I was picturing on of those big dog carriers/kennels, but that looks more like something you'd trap a wild animal in. And the filth! That poor bird:( He looks to need a good bath too. I'm shocked he's not plucked bald.

$1800 is a lot of money to just come up with, but hopefully you can at least get the word out about this bird, so even if you can't rescue the poor guy, someone can.

It looks like a wire dog crate standing on one end and using the door as a platform..???
Either way, it's disgusting!!! And that little guy needs rescuing :(

Wow, what a beautiful bird!! :) I, too, am surprised he is in such good feather and looks pretty healthy. What a trooper. That living area is filthy. They should be embarrassed!! All I can think about is what that place must smell like! When I went to pick up Kimi, the lady cleaned the cage, but the place smelled so terribly bad, it was hard to sit there for long. I ended up not taking the cage becUse it was not in good shape. Paint was peeling all over, smelled horrendous , and some spots were stained from droppings that stayed on there for too long.

Anyways, enough on smell. I also think the price is a bit high! Wonder if she got the bird from a pet store, where the markup is like 50%? See the screenshots below and you'll see what I mean. It sucks when people make a mistake, then try to get back every dime they spent. It doesn't work that way.

I feel terrible for the bird. I hope there's a way you can rescue him from that! Show this lady she's not asking a fair price. ;)

Beautiful bird, Terry! But you're right, those conditions are horrible! And that cage size is ridiculous. People will do just about anything for a buck, huh?

It would be amazing if you could help him, Terry, but don't feel guilty if you can't. (I know you with that big, mushy heart of yours! :p) At 60+ birds taken in and counting, you're already a Rescue Juggernaut!

Hey CRAZY LADY, WINGNUT is a Military Macaw!!! Listen, a word of advice, if you don't like SUPER CUDDLY, LOVEY DOVEY, BIG FEATHERY FLUFFY BALLS OF MUSHY MACAW LOVE, then you better forget it........

OF COURSE you like SUPER CUDDLY, LOVEY DOVEY, BIG FEATHERY FLUFFY BALLS OF MUSHY MACAW LOVE! So you MUST have this bird!!!

It sounds as if the cage is what is stopping you? Well, if that's it, maybe we could find a used one? I will personally donate $100 towards a cage for him if it will help. I'm picking up some extra shifts at work, so it would be my pleasure to help.

PM me and we can see if we can find a cage!

Military Macaw love is AWESOME!!

Wait, they want to charge you $1800 for the Millie?

That IS expensive for a Military.....but once he is yours....well it's priceless.

I'm not sure if I have the story straight.....but I'll help if its a GO!!

Did I mention how BIG AND CUDDLY MILITARY MACAWS ARE?

Michele, your big heart amazes me - I am so lucky to call you my friend:)
I so appreciate your offer, but heaven knows you have enough on your plate now! I have a cage that is much better than the one he is in, the problem is the $1800 she is demanding for his ransom. I have sent out emails to several people I think may be able to afford him, hoping to just get him out of there.
My mind is working a hundred miles a minute, and I may be able to come up with enough stuff to sell to come up with it. Don't worry, not stuff I need, I am such a pack rat and have all my wedding stuff still just sitting here, as well as a bunch of other junk (I mean wonderful things) that someone may want..lol.
I agree with what was said earlier, if it is meant to be, it will be:)
Thank you all for your support in my madness:)

The place from where we got Wingnut is pretty over priced, and we are in NY where the price of EVERYTHING is super jacked, and he was only $1400. I would call this heartless individual, and offer her $1000 cash, and let her start trying to talk you up from there.

I will still donate $100 to get him into your loving home.

BTW, by no means do I advocate people selling, or flipping animals of any kind. I'm just reacting to the situation at hand.

Thank you again, Michele:) You are the best!
I had sent emails to my friends here in town last night with a link to him, and I got an email a few minutes ago from one of them, and she is calling the woman to see if she could work something out. she already has a mac, and I think it would be awesome!
I will keep everyone updated when I hear back from her. I have my fingers crossed because this would be a great solution. (And my hubby won't leave me).
