Who's Bird is Molting? Is it that time of year?

Currently, all my birds are molting. I'm very excited about Kermit's molt, as that means his clipped wing feathers will finally be replaced. I'm having to sweep up feathers underneath their cages daily, and I've started to save some of the molted feathers. Who's bird is also molting? Do all birds molt at the same time each year?

My male ekkie is molting up a storm! Poor guy. I’ve got a big pile of feathers, and he’s got gone of pinnies coming in. Which reminds me I need to get him some crushed hard boiled egg soon...

I have 2 birds molting. Elvis my cockatiel and Lucky my budgie. Elvis is going through his usual molt and Lucky is going through his/her first molt.
My other 2 aren't molting, Jordan my Lovebird and Opal my budgie. No, not all birds molt at the same time each year.

Tis' the time of year for parrots in this part of the world to molt. Kiwi is on the tail end of his annual big molt. A few weeks ago, it looked like a bird exploded in the house and then he was in "cactus mode". All those pin feathers made him both look like and have the rather prickly disposition of a cactus Now he's looking very handsome

I wouldn't get too excited about wings growing back fully during a molt. It can take a couple molt cycles to grow back all flight feathers. Kiwi has always been clipped and he only gets one or 2 flights a wing each molt and maybe one or 2 additional per wing at some random points in the year. It took a couple years for him to get full flight feathers once (then he was clipped again after flight training went no where) and after having a fairly "standard" clip for a while, it took over a year to get enough back to maintain at his current "light clip" status.

This is Kermit's first molt. During their first molt, they replace all their juvenile feathers with a full set of adult feathers. With their regular seasonal molts after their first, they will not replace all their feathers. When my birds are molting, I keep track of which feathers are missing and which are growing in. Right now Kermit has lost his two longest tail feathers, and one of them is half its length. He has also lost a lot of small fluffy feathers, but no wing feathers yet.

My Cockatiel Lucky has finished his molt. He was feeling down and not full of energy for a while.
He is now back to attacking his bell toy whenever someone has the Gaul to disturb him.

I think my Bingo has started molting. I saw him scratching himself with one of his long feathers. found several small feathers at the bottom of the cage.

My GCC molted about a two months ago, but this year in MN the climate has been really cool, we only had like a couple days over 90 and most the summer it was in the 70's so it may have triggered it a bit soon.

Two weeks ago, our DYH Amazon, Julio exploded and he is just ending that part of the process! And, as Kiwi's mom state, he is just starting the "cactus mode."

Where you live and the Weather 'trend' in your specific area will better define whether you are about to begin, in the middle or rejoicing with a Parrot that is easier to be around. Also, cleaning-up, after the explosion, has merit!
