Idk if you guys know how picky my lil bird is but she would NOT eat anything but seeds:\ i've been trying to get her to eat something else since about november? but recently i jus bought some pellets and some more seed so she could actually eat something and i heard her making a wierd sound when she was eating you know not the usual seed cracking sound so i looked over to see what was going on! and she was eating a pellet!!!! HOLY CRAP! haha its about friggin time! i was so happy she's finally gonna get some nutrition in her!:) just thought i'd let ya'll know:):) :09:

Yay! Isn't it such a great feeling when they finally give in and try new foods? Congrats and keep up the great work!

Definately:) haha i posted about this in another forum and they said pellets aren't good? haha they said to mix my own seed mix. but the lady that said that is VERY anal about anything she does with her bird. i think she goes way over board and tries to make everyone else do the same..haha!

Good work! Try moistening the pellets with a little fruit juice for a treat. But, don't leave them too long, moist pellets go bad after a while. See, persistence pays off eventually.

Woo Hooo! Always exciting when this happens! I've been steaming carrots, then smooshing them for Amigo's oatmeal and ground pellet mix and he's going for it, finally! I keep trying with the whole pellets but so far no go. Congrats to you and your bird!

Ill try the juice stuff that sounds good haha how long does it take for them to go bad?

Oatmeal is a awesome food to mix things your bird wont eat on its own :)
I mixed boiled egg , yams and oatmeal . That is a big hit with them , they eat every last drop :)

I must give a big thanks to Roxy for suggesting the idea of the carrots with the oatmeal!

You're very welcome:) Your Amigo sounds much like my Briana was. Getting that bird on pellets was like a project. And I was always brainstorming how to get orange veggies into her. I may as well pass along the ideas I came up with for others with picky birds.
