I have just noticed some white spots on some of Nemos larger top wing feathers. They are slightly covered by other feathers and I just noticed them today. I would like to provide a photo, but Nemo just wont stand still long enough.. damn quantum parrot. They look a bit like small bleached dots.. not stripes.. and they seem to be on the slightly older feathers (I am making this assumption based on the new feathers seem significantly darker than thes old ones and these feathers are quite light grey). My question is.. has anyone else seen this before and more importantly.. is it something I need to worry about.. i.e. vet visit?

Miss colored feathers can happen, driven by the available resources of the Parrot at the time the feather was produced. Stress during that period can also occur, but tend to bars more than circles. As feathers age, they can be exposed to any number of chemicals that could cause a spot. But that tends to be very rare without other driving other health problems.

It is very common for Wing Feathers to present like coloration on both Wings. Check the other Wing for like coloring of the same or near by wing feather.

Unless your Parrot is showing other health problems, I would not be rushing to the Vet Clinic.

Ah thanks SailBoat. No.. no other symptoms, just miscoloration. I shall keep an eye on it but not panic :)!
