Where do you position your Air Purifier?

Do you put it opposite or next to your bird? I have a Heaven Fresh 380.

I have a humidifier/purifier combo that I have positioned on the opposite side of the room from Dexter's cage. I honestly placed it there for convenience of the available plug, rather than considering position in relation to his cage.

I think what matters most is that you have the right size unit to take care of the square footage of the room. That, and making sure you clean or replace filters much more often than if you didn't have birds. Mine can get clogged with fine powder-like bird dust so quickly it's amazing. Then again they say Eclectus don't produce the dust that most other parrots do more or less depending on species.

I just didnt know if you can place it next to the cage or not mine tells me when it needs cleaning its pretty good but then again it should do for the price ha ha. This depends on the room layout and what you need it to do.

Do not place it in such way as to place a draft (air flow) at your parrot.

NOTE: If the unit has multi fan speeds, select the lowest setting!

If it is to clean the air in that room only: Nearer to the doorway with the air flowing into the room and away from the door.

If it is to clean the air as it leaves the room: Nearer the doorway with the air flowing away and out of the room.

If you have a forced air heating/cooling system, Upgrade to a new technology 3" (75 mm) filtering system on your unit. Have it professionally installed so that there is minimum to no by-pass around the filter.

If you rent, replace the 1" (25 mm) filter every two week and never greater than once a month. Note the spacing around the filter, it needs to be tight again the incoming air return.

Parrot's range from real World Dust Balls to barely any dust at all. In the worst case, a good feather fluff would seem like the Sun is being blocked-out from the cloud of dust coming off the parrot. OK, a little over the top, but not by much. If you are owned by several at this end of the scale, an air purifier really can help clear the air!

My understanding is that is for both, them and us. The dust doesn't do them any good either. Certainly depends on type of bird whether it is a must or not.
