RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Just had an incredible visit in Edmonton with Terry57 and husband Reg! Super awesome people and seriously committed parronts. We had a terrific meal and stroll around the immense and action packed West Edmonton Mall. Our 3 1/2 hours of bonding flew by and will remain memorable.

Thanks Terry and Reg for being such wonderful hosts! Hope to return soon and often. :)

Scott yay! You had the opportunity to meet my dear friend Terry :). I'd love to go up there, but I think I'd wait til the snow passed lol (but I know you are there for business). I'm glad you had a nice afternoon and a memorable visit. I wish you a safe rest of your trip.

One day we'll have to meet at one of the great SD bird stores you guys have down there. I'm in Orange County. :)

Oh, that sounds like such fun! There's nothing better than friends that share our hobbies and passions in life. Glad you guys got to meet up. Sounds like the start of a great friendship.

Scott, it was such a pleasure to get to meet you today and get to know you better! I have never known 3 and a half hours to fly by so quickly:(
It was a wonderful day and definitely memorable, thank you for that, my Friend!
Thank you also for your kind words, I think you are a committed and fantastic parront as well:)
I can't wait til you can come up again, hoping for a longer layover next time! It'd be nice to have enough time to do that 7D ride:)

I will be actively looking for those rare Edmonton layovers. And yes, the 7D ride plus so much more at the mall! It was really special of you and Reg to make the effort!

Yay indeed!! After our brutally hot summer, Julie, you might find the crisp cold refreshing. Clear skies today, nice clean air!

I'm in Oceanside, so we'll have to meet someday, either in SD or your area. I mostly fly out of John Wayne.

Scott, no effort at all, only excitement! Can't wait to do it again! Wish the Edmonton layovers weren't rare though, which of the Powers That Be can I pester into changing rare to frequent? :)

It's amazing to be able to chat with folks who share your passions for sure!
And I agree, a great start to a wonderful new friendship:)

( I typed these responses earlier but must have forgotten to click submit..lol)

Scott, I'm so happy you had a chance to meet Terry and Reg! I can't think of a more pleasant way to spend a layover. I'm sure you had lots to chat about, wish I could have joined all of you.

I think we should have a big barbecue at Wendy's place this summer. :54:

Let's do it! Everyone bring extreme weather gear! Tell Alex to fire up the grill, if he can dig it out of the drift.

I'm so there! House party at Wendy's! Hahaha! (And I'm already in Jersey, so I'll have a head start on most of you!)

Me too! I have no idea how scheduling works. All I know is that it is driven by the marketing department, deciding how many flights each city receives and assigning a specific aircraft type for the anticipated demand. Once that is done, flight operations designs schedules and assigns them to the various pilot bases. It seems to be sort of like a shell-game, the flying is moved around from base to base. We always see the major hub cities, but the smaller stations get shuffled around. Each month seems to bring something new to the table. It's part science and part art!

You can bet I'll be looking for Edmonton each monthly bid period!!

For many of us "extreme weather gear" means a NASA astronaut space suit!

Yes, Scott! I wholeheartedly agree! Anything less wouldn't be enough! I'm shivering just looking at the photos.
