Hi again!
So Chewy is not terrified of us anymore, doesnā€™t freak out when I put my hand in his cage, and I can even move up and gently touch him.
Heā€™s not stepping up yet though.
Heā€™s pacing the cage and very curious about us and following our movements outside the cage. Heā€™s discovered his toys and biting his cage like itā€™s a treat.
When can I think about letting him fly in a room?
Better to start in a big or small room?

Hi, a smaller room will make it a bit easier for you both! Have windows covered.

For me, I like to assure that they have the ability to Step-Up! Not that is has to be a must, but at least comfortable with it. Why, because when he flies off, someone will have to pick him up.

Also, it helps to know whether the Wings are fully feathered are darn near.

Having the ability to Step-Up, also lets you provide a walk though of the room to provide an idea of flight paths and landing areas.

Young Parrot first flights are a true leap of faith for them and us! Although, they tend to fair much better on the emotional side. :D

We decided not to do it yet today, but we made steady progress in his trust! Heā€™s actually looking for attention now, if I peel the sunflower seeds before I give it he tries it now and heā€™s allowing me to pet him and touch him ! Still no step ups though, he tries to taste my hand but not stepping on it lol.
But for day 2, Iā€™m very much impressed with this little creature!
