Honestly why do people like this own birds and have the audacity to say "my bird hates everything" and wonder why.

Torture is a pretty good way to get anything to hate you.

Seems like the family that had him knew what they were doing, nice big cage, lots of toys, just seemed like they had a kid that wasn't being supervised and was picking on him. Poor bird, I doubt the parents even knew this was happening to him.

people are ridiculous. They are so confused when a bird is afraid of them. Parrots are way more intelligent than i think a lot of people realize and it takes time and trust for them to understand you and your intentions. I have had my sun conure about 10 months and she is still getting used to the idea of "hands". And you know what i am the 3rd owner. I understand what she is feeling and thats fine. I still love her. There has been progress in spades.

I don't think an afraid bird is anything anyone should ever get mad at. The poor thing just doesn't understand yet and with torture like this they never will.
