What kind of syrup?

I'm going to make my own nurti-berries.
My question is what kinds of syrups can i use that isn's too bad.
Is ahornsyrup good?i can get a organic one.
Or molasse?

Ohmygoodness I've never even thought about making my own nutriberries!!!! Lol. They ARE expensive- online I can get a 10 oz bag for under $6, but my local pet shop sells the same 10 oz bags for almost $10!!!!
