Through researching and being on all of these different forums, I have noticed a pattern.
Around 80% of people that own birds seem to have one type.
1. They have Budgies, Cockatiels, Parrotlets, and/or Lovebirds.
2. They have Cockatoos.
3. They have Amazons.
4. They have Macaws.
5. They have Poicephalus.
6. They have Conures.
It's striking, really. It seems that if someone has multiple birds, they are almost always one kind of bird. Usually they have different species, but the same type. For instance, if someone was a Macaw person, they have an Illiger's, a Hahn's, a B&G, and an RFM. If they are a Cockatoo person, they have a Goffin's, an Umbrella, and maybe a Molluccan.
Have you noticed this? Are you one of these people? If so, why? Is it because a person gets one species (i.e. Cockatoo) and decides they absolutely love their bird and they must have another? Or are certain people just good matches for certain types of birds?
(P.S. Hi, I'm really nosey and curious. )
