Parrots
Parrots that I have is sulphur-crested cockatoo.
She was born in New York. And she came to Japan. She is 19 years old. Her name is hinako.
And I also have cockatiel (male) and budgie(male).
My parrot's favorite toy is made of sugar cane:) She always bite this toy and she breaks in no time. And another favorite is corrugated cardboard box's house:grey:

It's not easy to make different kinds & types toy for my parrot.I want to good idea to make unique toys:yellow1:

Welcome Yukiko. Wow, how did Hinako get from New York to Tokyo?! I hear that it is hard to get birds from one country to another.
My Red Bellied parrot LOVES plastic chain links! It's very cheap, and lasts a long time. He can sit and chew it for hours!

Sometimes the things birds like best is not a toy at all, like the cardboard box you mentioned. It just takes a little bit of thinking to make good toys. You'll get some good ideas by looking at store bought toys too, and seeing how they're put together.

Please post pictures of Hinako :)

Welcome!! I don't think we have a member from Japan yet :)

My bird loves all his toys, especially things he can shred :)

Bandit's favorite toy right now is a basket filled with shredded paper, finger traps, & treats. Simple enough and easy to make.

Right now Talli and Ekko are in love with the cardboard drink trays.
I would also love to see pictures of your beautiful cockatoo!

Welcome to the forum, Yukiko! I'd also love to see a pic of your
Hinako.

Our macaw's favorite toys are ones he has to work to get stuff OUT of. So he loves food foraging toys, small plastic/hollow toys that are stuffed with small debri, chunks of wood or his other toys with tissue paper wrapped over them, and the like.

Be sure to check out the Parrot toys section of the forum as there are lots of great ideas there! Parrot Toys - Parrot Forum - Parrot Owner's Community

Hi! I make Fern's toys too. I find materials at craft shops. This is her favorite. She swings the purple guy all around and sticks her head in the bell over and over to make it ring.

Charlie really likes the large abc blocks strung on a chain. Parker likes the acrylic rings and beads. And Juno is a ball bird.

Rollerballs, anything with a jingle bell within. He also loves tiny Tupperware containers that he loves to throw around. And if course, my phone. Don't all bratty kids love phones? :D

Cute toy :) every bird I've had would immediately go for the eyes on any toy with eyes. I'm surprised Fern hasn't torn them out lol

thanks! I am not sure a GCC could. I only have experience with Fern though, but she doesn't chew things. She just pushes it with her head or foot, lol

Sakura's favorite toys are: Me , and jalapeno peppers chopped up on a skewer (she loves to pick out the seeds and chew the stems). My tiels love balsa wood, popsicle sticks, perches with bark they can chew, and drinking straw toys like this one (very easy to make, too).

Aether-drifter, I love your new sig picture! Looks really nice. Beautiful birds... Is Solaire a pastel face? I particularly like the look of the gray whitefaces too!

Thank you for your message!

I met Hinako at Japanese pet shop in 1994.
The store imported her from NY. (by airplane)

It's good that plastic chain is cheep and lasts a long time!
I also refer to it.

Thank you:white1:
