Sprite the cinnamon green cheek conure.
So whenever I have Sprite out his absolute favorite place is plants. I have 3 safe plants, which are a gardenia nad 2 coleus, but he always flies to this tree-like plant we have. Its an umbrella plant and unfortunately its toxic and I feel SOO bad when I cant let him go on it cuz he loves it so much. But I just realized I have one just like the umbrella plant but I know its different. Problem is, I dont know what it is or if its safe. I think it might be a corn plant, which is safe, but I dont want to take any chances. Heres a pic: http://i54.tinypic.com/24m8954.jpg

Looks like is from the Dracaena Family. Are on the safe plant list.

That is a Corn Plant, and on the safe list.

There is about 40 varieties of this plant. We don't call it a Corn Plant. We call them Dracaena's. I think from memory Cordylines are also from the Dracaena Family of plants.

Although i have a garden full of many of these plants i don't let the birds chew on the leaves. I really only use Australian Natives. Just er on caution & get branches & leaves you know are safe in your country.

Well, I have 2 of them in my house, and I call them a Corn Plant.

Gee i didn't mean to sound so stupid, I have never heard Dracenas called corn plants. I guess you have never heard them called Draceana's either. So we have both learned something new.:)

Speaking of safe plants.... Remember when I asked if a Jade plant was safe? Well that very pretty Jade plant is now a sad, sad, stem with one leaf. Ida thought it was a very fun "toy." My boyfriend was not to happy, BUT I told him to move it. He refused to listen. Sometimes being stubborn burns you in the butt. LOL. We are moving in a few days though, so hopefully the plant will fair better at the new place.

Does anyone have a link to a "safe plants for parrots" site?
I am wondering if Rose Hips from Rugosa Rose bushes are safe for parrots.
It is the part left on the stem after the blossoms fall off, it looks like a small reddish berry.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for the links Pedro.
I appreciate it.
I thought that Rose Hips would be ok because people can eat them & make tea with them , but I just wanted to be certain that they are ok for parrots.
