his one foot (left one) have pink colors the ends. is it normal? and yeah i know he dont have claws.. he was like that when i bought him.
i breed cockatiels and it means for them carrying pied mutation on their genes but quakers ? can someone answer me please 🥹 other fingers normally gray, you can see his little claw is black too.

he is a quaker/monk no doubt 👀 i've never had a parrotlet breed (pacific or celestial) before and he is my very first quaker lol. when i bought him,his wings are clipped too. still have trauma about touching its wings, i can understand him.. he is not only once special boy i have a zebra finch with have very similar problem 👀 at this point he is luckier than the zebra f,he only have one finger one foot.. but for now i just have questions for this little boy 🫶🏼 I want to at least know if it's normal
ty for replying 🫶🏼

Well, I'm here to get schooled!
Gorgeous. A rose by any other name...

Was he born missing some toenails or was he injured? I have a baby budgie born with both feet deformed. What do you do to accommodate his disability?

i really dont know,he was like that when i bought him but probably his parents ate his nails,i saw this thing my old baby cockatiels (they died) and their nails was one morning just gone..
actually i was tought it will be life problem for him and i was get a ladder (for easy climbing) but he live perfectly like a normal bird and ate his ladder 💀
his cage is small for now ( same reason) i will change that then, if dont forgot i will share it too
if your budgie have same problem like my boy she/he is gonna live mostly normal but if you talking about like "cross legs/foot" (sorry i cant remember this things name in ing) then probably you gonna use small cage for she/he too bcs its so hard for them 🥲 i hope your little angel's life be easy ❤️‍🔥

I had two Lutino cockatiels that had missing nail/claws.
I always assumed it was due to a genetic mutation (poor breeding) and not mutation in the nest.

Each toe with a missing nail appeared to have an extra fleshy segment in its place.

And they got around fine inside and outside the cage.

Baby Joey already leads a gifted life. We're devoted to all our budgies, and we will do whatever's best for Joey. Ideally, she will join the flock and be a happy budgie. As much as we hate the thought, if her two deformed toes prove to be a big health concern (pressure sores, mainly) we will have our Avian vet remove those toes. In the meantime, she's our baby and she's in no rush to grow up.
